1. Download and install
Let’s start by 'installing' MyContexts. MyContexts will become a Web App in the near future, but currently is just served from https://mycontexts.com.
Warning
|
Currently, we only guarantee MyContexts will run in the Chrome web browser. FireFox may work as well. Safari won’t. |
Click the link to open MyContexts. Assuming you have not set up MyContexts before, you’ll land on the tab 'Create Account'. For now:
-
select under
Where do you want to store your data
the optionIn the browser database (recommended)
; -
enter a username.
Why a username? Because MyContexts allows you to set up for multiple users in the same browser. This way you can share your device with multiple people. It also allows you to test connections between multiple accounts.
Important
|
As you will notice, the account is not password protected: we assume that people with access to a single device trust each other. Also, notice that the username you enter will never leave the device: it is a local registration only. |
Setting up takes a few seconds. On success, you’ll see a menu titled MyContexts
in an otherwise empty screen. This menu is the only permanent fixture of MyContexts, though, depending on the situation, more or less items may appear in it. You will learn the meaning of the items as we go along. All other functionality that Perspectives has to offer, comes from models of specific contexts and roles.
